      Vineyard Wedding for Wine Lovers

Kelly and Ian love their wine and came back from London to get married at Cable Bay vineyard on Waiheke Island – check out the photo of their wine cellar! They used our Managing Your Big Day service to make sure their wedding day went off without a hitch! Their wedding day was forecast to be a  “weather bomb”, however they still got most of the day they planned other than the wedding ceremony taking place inside due to high winds.

Kelly had a stunning wedding dress - she said she felt like she had tried on every wedding dress in London before choosing it and it certainly was worth it. Cable Bay vineyard was decorated very tastefully with hire Items from both Auckland and Waiheke Island suppliers. Emma Hughes, the photographer, got fabulous photos despite the weather. The wind in fact turned out to be very useful for getting dramatic shots with the wedding veil!

Kelly and Ian were determined to get some photos in the vineyard amongst the grape vines and thankfully this was possible. Kelly and Ian, wishing you many years of happiness together and I hope you continue to enjoy our Waiheke wines from the other side of the world.

      Eloping to Enclosure Bay

Lisa and David decided to get married while they were on holiday in New Zealand, then go back to England and surprise their family and friends!  It was a beautiful day for a wedding ceremony on the beach. The groom had a tear in his eye as soon as Rosemareyn, the celebrant, started the wedding vows. Showing that you don’t need to share the ceremony with guests for it still to be a moving experience.

Phillipa Karn, the wedding photographer had fun getting photos of the happy couple on the beach and climbing the rocks. The only minor drama was earlier in the day when the make up artist needed to cover Lisa’s sunburn so that it didn’t show in the wedding photos (too much lying out on a sun lounger the day before the wedding!)

Thank you Lisa and David for letting us share in your special day.

      Private home beach wedding

Kate and Riyaz had a fabulous wedding at a private home on Waiheke Island Saturday

December 3rd 2011. They were sooo lucky with the weather as it rained all day the

Following day – and the brilliant sunshine meant the guests got to enjoy as much of

      The beachside property as possible.

The guests walked down to a tree grove near the beach for the wedding ceremony,

Kate and her bridesmaids arrived on the back of the farm bikes which was a lot of fun!

After the wedding ceremony Kate and Riyaz went for a helicopter ride around the bay

Before returning to the front lawn for drinks and canapés with their guests.

Platinum Hire provided a star marquee which was a stylish shade option for jazz band

Chocolate Fish and the guests to get out of the heat of the day during the canapé session.

The main marquee for the reception looked beautiful with flowers by Vicki at Wildflower

and each table having their owned themed cocktail when they were seated. The guests

enjoyed their meal served by Gill Stotter catering and I’m sure danced and partied for

several hours with Relapse after I left!

The photos were taken by Waiheke Island photographer Phillipa Karn.

It was a pleasure to work on your wedding day and I hope married life back in New York

      Treats you both well.

Hong Kong Ex Pats choose Waiheke Island

We never got to meet Pepita and Ben until a few days before their Wedding - they lived in Hong Kong and could not get away until their celebrations began. We worked with them planning their big day for about a year via email, skype and phone calls, oh how we love technology!

Easter Weekend was the weekend that all their international guests and family arrived on Waiheke, coming as far as England, Dubai, Hong Kong to name a few. Pepita and Ben had chosen to have their first meeting at the private home that Pepita was staying at and their photos before their ceremony. The sun was shining and everyone was in great spirits.

Following the bridal photo shoot they moved to a popular vineyard for their wedding ceremony which was beautiful. Due to light fading at this time of year local photographer Emma Hughes had to get creative and used glow sticks to create some funky night shots – the bridal party certainly had fun!

After fabulous heart warming speeches guests made their way to a photo booth for more fun.

Pepita and Ben, thanks for allowing us to plan and enjoy your special day – your whole family were wonderful to work with. We hope you continue to enjoy your overseas adventures!

Californian couple tie the knot on Waiheke Island

Gretchen and Doug are both American citizens who live and work in California. When they were on holiday in New Zealand they visited Waiheke Island and decided our beautiful island is where they wanted to get married. Gretchen and Doug bought the majority of their guests from the USA, including a close family friend who married them.

Initially they wanted to get married in a church, but for church protocol reasons this did not work out. However they were then able to incorporate a communion service in their outdoor wedding ceremony at a popular Waiheke Island vineyard.

These fabulous photos from their wedding day were taken by Emma Hughes.

It was a beautiful day which showed off New Zealand to the mostly overseas guests. Thanks Gretchen and Doug for letting us be part of your special day.

Siobhan and Jason wanted to share their special day with a large group of family and friends. Getting married on the beach was important to them, and even though it was windy they were keen to go through with their plan. The groomsmen had created a heart made of shells on the beach, for them to get married in front of.

As Zimbabwean immigrants Siobhan and Jason required full planning assistance as they were unfamiliar with New Zealand wedding traditions. It was a big family affair with a large wedding party.

There was lots of dancing, fun, and laughter.

      Words of appreciation

Jan and Jenny were fantastic in organising all aspects of our wedding leading up until and on the day. As a first-time bride I had no idea of where or what to start doing to plan my wedding until finding these two valuable ladies who organised the Platinum Package for Jason and myself.

The package made all the difference to us as everything was included i.e. setting up appointments with suppliers, asking them questions of charges/services they provide, giving us detailed information on getting our guests over to Waiheke as all of them came from Auckland and not to mention making sure everyone knew their roles on the day whether they were the MC, in the bridal party, or helping out.

Jan and Jenny really do everything to ensure your day runs smoothly and on time and having them there at the rehearsal to show us all how things will be running on the day was more than helpful. Thanks to both of them Jason and myself had the picture perfect wedding day and getting to know Jan and Jenny is such a pleasure, we'll truly miss our trips over to Waiheke Island to see them.

Thanks once again for making our day so special and unique.

      Love Jason and Siobha'n.
